Wapanohk is a elementary school offering education from grades K-8 under the School District of Mystery Lake.

Some of the programs Wapanohk school offers include:

Cree Bilingual: Wapanohk has worked closely with Manitoba First Nations Education Resource Centre to develop a Cree Bilingual school. This gives students the oppurtunity to recieve K-5 eduacation in the Cree language.


Adult Cree Course: Provides adults with the oppurtunity to learn the Cree language, open to the community it is held Tuesday nights for a 10 week period, once every year.

Lunch Program: Available for students to be able to stay for lunch. There is a fee of $25 dollars to join or if two or more from one family join the fee is lowered to $20 per child.

Lighthouse Program: The program is lead by students for students and teaches pro social skills and physical health. It is run by the Manitoba Justice Program and is designed to keep children off the streets by teaching them positive life skills and values. Some activities the children might participate in may be healthy cooking, quilt making and murals.

Family and School Together Program: This program focuses on family togetherness and bonding. Family time is held for 8 weeks, once every year.

Thompson Badminton Club: For students age 12-14, offers students the oppurtunity to learn and become involved in the sport of badminton. Todd Harwood leads the program, and students can come play every monday from 6:00 pm-7:30 pm.

Fiddling Classes: Available for both students and adults, to learn the fiddle. Program is open to the community and anyone interested is invited to phone the school to register. Registration ends every October.

Breakfast Program: Held every Monday to Friday from 8am to 9am, the breakfast program offers a healthy breakfast for both students and parents.

School Wide Snack Program: Put in place to promote healthy eating this program offers healthy snacks every Wednesday to students.
