The Manitoba Metis Federation (MMF) represents the Metis people of Manitoba at the political, social and cultural arena. Established in 1967, it rapidly became the representative voice of provincial Metis. MMF has created a youth department to respond to the needs and aspirations of Metis youth. MMF is committed to sharing benefits and opportunities for individuals, families
and communities while remaining faithful to a personal balanced approach to the individual’s mind, body, spirit and emotions.

Serves as an organization for Metis and non status aboriginals concerned with the social, economic and political well being of members. Offers educational support services, employment counseling youth services, housing and advocacy.

Advocacy;

Provides wellness counseling services to urban and rural Metis clients.

Provides Metis membership and harvesting cards.

Education;

Offer general upgrading and GED programs through University of the North and the last year university funding.

Housing;

Provides housing in rural communities only.

Training;

Provides class 1 drivers training to Metis youth and Metis adults.

Provides heavy duty equipment operators training for Metis, wanting to get in the construction trade. Training paid for by the federal departments such as employment insurance.
