The Thompson Guide to Community Resources is a community based solution to promote awareness of service availability. This comprehensive community resource directory provides organizational contact and mandate information, training opportunities, and inter-agency committees and information associated with problematic substance use and other social service issues.

The Thompson Guide to Community Resources is part of the Community Resource Centre initiative, funded by a grant from the Drug Strategy Community Initiatives Fund through the Thompson Homeless Shelter INC. The initiative is managed by a committee of the Thompson Homeless Shelter Inc Board of Directors. The members are representatives from six community agencies who support the development of inter agency contact, awareness and collaboration.

The goal is to improve information flow, develop better access of services to clients and agency staff, and to enhance the social services network in Thompson (Manitoba). The CRC will generate accurate and up-to-date information on service availability in Thompson region, distribute the information to all agencies, care givers, organizations and the community in general gather, authenticate and then publish, share, disseminate and advertise the information, and ensure the information on service availability is up-to-date.
